Primary: Grades 1-3

The primary years of education are monumental.  They are the foundation that will be built upon in years to come.  Children come ready to absorb and replicate all that they learn.  Their vulnerable innocence and desire to learn, investigate and dig into all that is around them creates a remarkable teaching platform.  The desire of so many students to know more allows God to penetrate their hearts and souls and to equip and invest in them great teaching and understanding.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”  Proverbs 22:6

Academically, there is so much understanding that takes place from hands on learning and this is why our curriculum is focused on that.  In addition, literacy is a highly valued skill that will take students even deeper into their understanding.  For this reason, our curriculum also pushes interesting and challenging texts, allowing students to stay engaged in their reading while expanding their vocabulary and knowledge.  Reading is incredibly valuable.

All students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classes are also taught art, music, P.E., world language, as well as library.  These classes are taught by specialists.  Core subjects include Bible, science, social studies (history & geography), language arts (grammar, writing, spelling & handwriting), reading and math.
