“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” -Proverbs 27:17

Eagle Days

On the first Thursday of each month, 6th-12th grade students participate in leading and organizing events for student groups. We believe it’s important for students to learn to advocate for themselves and others. Students also learn how to lead their community and encourage others.

Student Groups

FCS encourages students to participate in student activities and student government as an excellent way to experience personal growth, meet new friends, share common interests with other students, faculty and staff. The goal of Student Groups is to help students develop skills in leadership, event planning and management, decision-making, communication, goal setting, fiscal management, marketing and promotion, and even more importantly, to make life at FCS fun and memorable. Below are our list of student groups. Student group activities take place during lunch hours and/or after school.

  • Chess
  • Intramural Sports
  • Girls Bible Group
  • Boys Bible Group
  • School Spirit Committee
  • Student Store
  • Readers

Student Leadership/Student Government

Student Government positions are elected by their peers. Through the student government councils, student activities are planned including social gatherings and service opportunities.  Students may also bring concerns or requests pertaining to school life to the faculty and administration through the student councils.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Student Government at FCS is to assist in fostering a positive Christ-honoring tone within the student body using the Biblical model of “love the Lord your God with all your heart,” and “love your neighbor as yourself,” to develop a student community of God first, others second, self third.

Retreats & Field Trips

*All grade levels participate in at least two field trips per year. Many times, field trips allow students to see things from different perspectives, to gain understanding through inquiry based learning as well as gain a better understanding of all of the wonders around them.

At Fellowship, we also believe community is hugely important. For this reason, we encourage student groups, outreach and retreats.

  • 5th grade students participate in a “Day Away” retreat.
  • High School students participate in a 3-4 day retreat.

Students are never disappointed and look forward to retreats to come. These retreats allow students to get away from the world a bit and to spend time with each other and the Lord. It allows them to focus on what’s truly important and to find joy in it. Overnight retreats always have separate housing for boys and girls. All participate in daily cooking, games, Bible study and retreat adventures (we like to keep these adventures a secret from the kids until Camp week).

High School Overnight Info

Why an Overnight Retreat? It is an opportunity that can’t and won’t be replicated elsewhere, that truly builds community and love for our Lord. All students that have participated in the FCS High School Retreat, in past years, have always had a blast and grown deeper in their relationships with one another and the Lord. It is an opportunity to take a step away from this world, focus on Him in fun and engaging adventures, talks, prayer, Worship, games and activities. Each year, we surprise the students with the activities (we don’t like to give too much away ahead of time) and always have an incredible time.

Sleeping Arrangements/Lodging & Supervision

The FCS Overnight Retreat is always closely monitored by adult chaperones, with boys and girls sleeping in separate housing. Bathrooms are also located in boys only cabins and girls only cabins. Cabins will have an adult cabin lead (adult chaperone also delegated by gender).

The retreat centers typically include a full kitchen (where students take turns helping prepare food during the retreat–this is an activity many of the kids grow to love), meeting room, outdoor amphitheater and campfire, many activity areas (volleyball, etc.) and outdoor fun (locations have included beaches, trails, etc.).

Cost & Stay

The cost of attending the Retreat is $125 per student, due by November 1. We never want money to get in the way of a student attending, so please do speak to us if you are needing assistance with this or would like to make any arrangements for a payment plan. The cost includes all lodging, meals, transportation, activity/game access and supply fees.

Departure & Return

We will be traveling via passenger vans. Students are not allowed to drive their own vehicles. No students other than FCS high school students in current attendance will be allowed to participate in the FCS Overnight Retreat and will not be allowed on the property of the retreat location.

Departure: We will be departing in late April (usually the last week of April) or the first week of May. Dates are given out year to year.

Return to FCS: We will return to FCS after a three night retreat. Return times are typically at about 4-5:00PM (dependent on traffic). We will notify all families via text when we are an hour away.

Packing List/What to Bring

A full packing list is attached in the FCS Retreat Flyer, attached. We do ask students not to overpack, so we have room in the vehicles. If a student isn’t sure whether they need/should bring an item, please ask. All bags are checked/inspected before we depart.

The attached FCS Overnight Retreat Forms and info. will be passed out to all students/families.

We are so very excited to be taking this trip and getting some time away with all of your kids! We have an amazing Father that continues to surpass all of our needs and supply bountifully. We are so, so blessed.
